Georgetown, TX, just outside of Austin, sounds like a great place to live. I think it’s really cool. But it may not be for you.
I’m going to tell you the 5 reasons you won’t want to move to Georgetown;
- You don’t want to be part of a growing city.
Georgetown is growing by leaps and bounds but it’s different from the growth that’s happening in Leander or Cedar Park. (Link to other vlogs)
The growth in Georgetown, TX is more in the industrial sector with lots of opportunity for industrial manufacturing and attracting high quality jobs. This is due mainly to its location along the interstate.
- You are looking for big city vibe where you can walk everywhere and be close to everything
Georgetown, TX is more spread out and has a much lower population density than anywhere in Austin, TX.
There is a LOT of new construction happening for single family and multifamily homes such as the rolling hills of Rancho Sienna or the European style development of Wolf Lakes Village.
- You want to live in an echo chamber
No matter what your position or philosophy is, about half of the Georgetown population is going to disagree with you.
- You want to live in an area with zero potential for natural disasters
You may not experience volcanoes, earthquakes or hurricanes in Georgetown, TX, but there are tornado risks.
- You don’t care about good food
Georgetown, TX has some really good food options. I highly recommend that you check out El Monumento. It is an upscale Mexican restaurant overlooking the blue hole lagoon.
The perfect place to enjoy a spicy margarita with friends.
